It’s so important to print your pictures and have them on display in your home so that you can enjoy them every day. What get family photos taken if you just get digital files and never look at them again? They aren’t serving their purpose: to build your children’s confidence, to remind you why you fell in love with your partner, to increase your joy and happiness on a daily basis. Ok, now that you’re convinced that having photos in your home will add to your happiness, let’s talk about how to turn your digital files into printed artwork.
1) First, think about what type of product you most enjoy.
Do you love looking at pictures on your wall as you pass by them in your home? Do you enjoy sitting down with a cup of tea and an album, taking your time flipping through each page and reliving your memories? Do you like small prints that you can hang from a display and change out multiple images with every new season?
2) Next, decide where you would want to display your images in your home.
Do you want baby photos in your nursery? A few large family photos in your living room? Something nice next to the dining table where your family gathers to eat? A collage along the staircase to tell a story? Most people forget about the bathroom, but that’s prime real estate! You frequent that room in your house, when you’re in there you have time to look around and enjoy the scenery whereas you may be distracted in other rooms in your home.
3) Third, think about the mood or feeling you want to evoke in that space in your home.
If it’s your living room, do you want the photos to have a playful feeling? If it’s in your bedroom do you want a more calm, peaceful moment? If it’s in your bathroom do you want it to be adventurous? Choose photos that fit the feeling you are going for in that particular room.
