{Jewelry Show}
2.15.11
An opportunity to put on a jewelry show and sell my creations only comes once in a while,
so I take advantage when I can. I love making jewelry because it means that people can wear my art.
So often I feel like people stereotype art to be hung on a wall or tucked away in a gallery or a house
where few people are able to access or enjoy it. I love that jewelry art is accessible to everyone
and the fact that it is worn and goes where we go means that others around us are able to enjoy it as well.
Some may think of it as craft rather than art (which is a whole other debate). However, jewelry making can
require just as much knowledge, skill, practice and creativity in concept and design. It's not necessarily an art form
that invokes deep thought about life and meaning; I see it as more of an art about process and aesthetic.

My typical Steampunk style with watch parts (and resin)...

and my new obsession with feathers!
